Jackson is the most expensive because it is small and in Jackson Hole with limits on how many flights can take off and land so you paying higher prices for convenience. Because of fares, we usually fly into Billings and I love the small airport there. Like Idaho Falls, I've flown into Pocatello for YNP/ GTNP trips.īasically you need to check the difference in fares/ car rental rates to see what works best for you. Cheapest airfares may be to Salt Lake City or Denver, but they are much further away so you are trading drive time for price. Billings or Bozeman work well and you can still do a loop in the rental car. Cody and West Yellowstone are close also.

My favorite is Jackson, because it's so small and when you land you are RIGHT THERE in the Tetons, but I'd use one of the rental agencies at the airport to save the shuttle ride into town (Jackson). If you are staying in/near YNP and GTNP you can do a loop and return the car to the same airport.

We've flown into Jackson Hole and returned the car elsewhere (Kalispell, after Glacier) and open jaw works great and saves time if you are heading out of the area.
